Kindness is a priority for all of us at SEEN, and it has been since we first launched the brand three years ago. Our mission is to develop effective, luxurious products that deliver stronger, smoother, healthier hair while being kind to the skin—and doing no harm in the process.
Beyond being friendly to the planet (which you’ll hear more about for Earth Day in a few weeks—stay tuned!), we care deeply for all of the animals we share our world with. SEEN has never tested, and will never test our products on animals.
SEEN is proud of our Leaping Bunny certification, which means none of our products or ingredients are tested on animals. This stringent certification goes beyond merely adhering to animal-testing laws (since there are several legal loopholes that allow for testing on animals under certain conditions). To earn Leaping Bunny Certification, a cosmetic company and its suppliers must agree not to conduct, commission, or be party to any form of animal testing after a set date. Even more, as a Leaping Bunny-certified company, SEEN agrees to set up a “Supplier Monitoring System” that ensures every company we source ingredients from complies with the program’s criteria (and that our door is always open for independent audits of this system). Achieving and maintaining this certification takes a lot of work that we are happy to take on, and we have also agreed to renew our commitment to Leaping Bunny annually.
We didn’t stop with Leaping Bunny; SEEN is also certified by PETA as Animal Test-Free and Vegan. To obtain this certification, we confirmed that we do not (nor will we in the future) conduct or commission animal testing on any ingredients, formulations, or final products. In addition, the PETA certification recognizes that our entire product line is free of animal-derived ingredients.
We believe everyone should to be able to experience the SEEN difference in their hair and skin, including those who fully embrace a vegan lifestyle. Before we even set out to create our first batch of core SEEN products, we decided that everything had to be vegan-friendly. This goes hand-in-hand with our cruelty-free philosophy since we avoid any animal-derived or animal by-product ingredients, including beeswax and lanolin (even if sourcing these ingredients poses no harm to the animals).
SEEN is dedicated to healthy hair and skin, but we are also committed to kindness to the planet and everyone who inhabits it—humans and animals included.
