Itchy body! Itchy scalp, stiff dry hair

"I heard so many good things about these products in the silver sister community. I was looking for something that will really take care of my scalp-prone to drying easily -white small flakes (not dandruff). I have high density, rough finish, porous hair, no dye, about 70% gray hair/rest is brown. First time I used shampoo and conditioner I noticed my hair at the scalp was greasy 2 days after washing. My hair is washed 2 times a week so this was not a good sign. The leave in conditioner did not make my hair smooth or helped with styling my natural waves. I also continued to apply the scalp serum that I got earlier before this pack but did not see improvement in the small flakes but didn’t get discouraged. Thought that shampoo from the same line would help it work better. The second time I washed I was really paying attention to lather- it lathered well so I knew it was getting my hair clean. I noted how my temples felt when rinsing-like someone put a plastic wrap on my hair. Smoth but very stiff. Reminded me of clarifying shampoo feeling but with a coating of something. The feeling was more noticable with second lather (I always shampoo twice because I don’t get everywhere the first time/there are spots that don’t lather the first time). This time I conditioned with deep conditioner thinking that my hair needs more than the regular conditioner. I applied the leave in conditioner and blowout cream to style for straight hair this time. I used the blowout cream with different shampoo and conditioner. While it worked fine on helping dry my hair hair straight, I noticed how stiff my hair was after applying to my wet hair. Again, I thought maybe it would work better with Seen shampoo and conditioner, and it would feel softer, smoother. I dried my hair with a hair dryer and tried the magic serum to just see how it helps finish of and tame some of the frizz. I barely used any andsome spots basically got stringy. No magic just sitting on some thirsty strands. There was still lots of frizz. Seeing how it just coated some strands but did not smooth them out, I didn’t see any benefit to try and apply moreZ After a few hours I noticed I was itchy in a few spots on my head. By evening my whole head was itchy. Before I went to bed and started really looking at the ingredients in this line. The line has acrylates (C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer in the scalp serum!!) and heavy film-forming polymers, specifically polyquaterniums (such as Polyquaternium-7 in shampoo, Polyquaternium-37 or Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride in the conditioners) These cationic polymers used as conditioning and thickening agents build up. I was avoiding silicones for this reason and got myself into a bigger mess. While I appreciate the lightweight emolients in this line (something I was looking for as a base before playing with products with heavier conditioning agents-I don’t think they had a chance to ‘work’ on my head and hair because of the polymers and acrylates. I used a clarifying shampoo and the itching has subsided. The scary thing is that I also bought a big bottle of the body wash after free little sample and even though I did not notice itching with the sample size-with the big bottle my skin is itching! It looks like the same polyquats used in shampoo started accumulating on my body. This is very dissapointing considering that this line is developed by a dermatologist. Before looking into the ingredients I thought I needed to see a dermatologist after using these products. The advertising promised big benefits like reduction of itchy, scalp. It is said to be non-comedogenic, yet the polymers are film forming. It did nothing it promised for my scalp, skin. My hair was stiff and dry. This might work great for low porosity, low density and hair that already has a smooth finish"
