Q+A With Sabrina
Sabrina was a stylist for five years before her fragrance allergy was confirmed. Here, she shares some of her professional and personal experiences along this journey–and where she is today.
SEEN: What was your first reaction when you learned about your fragrance allergy?Sabrina: Discovering my fragrance allergy was something I wasn’t expecting and I love a good smell–haha. Knowing that I would now have to completely change all my products and having to rediscover products that would work for me seemed so intimidating at first, but I knew it would come by just getting it done one step at a time.
SEEN: What was your first step when looking for fragrance-free haircare?
Sabrina: Being a professional stylist, I went directly to my professional supply stores to see what options they had, which unfortunately was really barely even limited to just shampoo and conditioner. From there, I sat down with my salon owner Ben and we wanted to find more than just shampoo and conditioner. We Googled fragrance free products and found SEEN with a whole line and great reviews!! Having everything from washing to styling meant a lot.
SEEN: How has SEEN improved your life?
Sabrina: Personally having the line in the salon has been a huge comfort for me. I was nervous about finding something that would not only be comfortable for my allergies but also be comfortable for my hair needs. As a curly girl myself and as a natural textured specialist, I still wanted to be able to provide the best to my clients and this has been great! And my clients also have come to me now sharing that they are usually fragrance free and don’t have many fragrance products at home, and my response was why didn’t you ever say anything? And they responded with I knew you didn’t have that to offer and now that you do I’m happy to use it!
