I don't think I have a particularly sensitive scalp but have always had scalp itch from shampoos with botanical or citrus ingredients. Which pretty much rules out the majority of shampoos at Whole Foods and other health stores since they often feature lavender or grapefruit, which leads me to constantly scratch my head (literally). Before using SEEN, I was using a baby shampoo which eliminated the itch but didn't always leave my hair feeling clean. SEEN gives me the ideal combo of clean without the itch. I started with the scented shampoo but have lately been using the fragrance free shampoo. Both are great, I just figure why add fragrance if I don't need to. And a little bit of the shampoo goes a long, long way - at least for a guy.
I'm half way through my second bottle of this and I keep using it because it truly has made a difference in my scalp irritation. I am ridiculously sensitive to fragrance and other common shampoo ingredients (MS does weird things to the skin), but this shampoo really doesn't irritate at all. However, I have naturally curly and partially greying hair, and I do find this quite drying to the hair. It's actually both drying and pulls the curl out of my hair. I've counteracted it thus far with very moisturizing conditioners, including the Seen Deeper conditioner which is GREAT, but I still find I need to clarify for whatever buildup is pulling my curl out, and deep condition/hair mask to counteract the drying affects. I keep using because it's truly non irritating which is a big deal to me. However, I wish SEEN would come out with a more moisturizing, less drying shampoo. I think this shampoo is great for anyone who doesn't need the extra moisture.
